Celebrating 50 Seasons
The 50th Season at Forest Hill
Hockey will sport many new
initiatives to celebrate our
heritage while embracing the
changing landscape of hockey today.
What has remained throughout
our 50 seasons is a sense of family,
fun and lasting friendships. There
are many of us who remember the
league when FHHA was out doors,
frozen toes and Joe Louis’ were healthy
snacks. Parents who came and watched were
usually coaches, as we all walked to
and from the rink. The
parking lot was mostly
empty. In fact one player
whose first year was in
1960, sits on our Board,
Alan Siegal. In those days
the season ended with the
cold weather on March 15
and the Stanley Cup was
won during the Passover holidays.
Welcome to our 50th season,
we’re looking to have as much fun as
we always have had at FHHA.
To celebrate our 50th Season
of hockey, we are inviting all of
our parents to join their child as a
member of their team on Saturday
January 9, 2010. The first FHHA
Parent Player Classic will combine
the talents of Parent and Child
against another team in the
division. Parents are expected to
report to the locker room one half hour
before the game, dress with the Players,
listen to the Coaches pre game
instructions, adhere to the rules
of hockey and most importantly
Parents are expected to tie up
their own skates. Please register
with your child’s Coach if you
wish to play before December 15,
2009. Helmets and skates are
mandatory, a hockey stick would
be helpful and release forms must be signed
before a Parent can play.
